The inspiration for the Inzuzo labels comes from the artwork around the Sir Lowry’s Pass Village. A painting project started by artist Charlie Vettori to bring life and light to the village.

Charlie Vettori, born in Norfolk, UK in 1962, is an accomplished artist and decorator. Her early education at Culford School was followed by a degree in Theatre Arts and Set Design from Mountview Theatre School, London. She then worked as a set designer and scenic artist at the Thorndyke Theatre, including West End productions. In 1984, she founded and directed Arts Angel Interiors in London, undertaking commissions worldwide for prestigious homes and royal palaces, including work in the US, Caribbean, Middle and Far East. Her expertise led to an invitation to South Africa’s first Decorex as an international speaker and steering committee member in 1988.

After numerous visits to South Africa, and meeting her Italian-born husband, Vettori relocated in 2001. She established “The Faux Factory” in Johannesburg, mentoring local artists in decorative finishes, gold and silver application, murals, and canvas artwork. Her decorative work also encompasses Islamic art, reflecting her experience in the Middle East. Vettori’s art has been featured multiple times on Top Billing, and her “painted door” art piece achieved the highest bid at a celebrity charity auction in 2012. A successful exhibition at the Hilton Arts Festival in 2014 further solidified her reputation.

Relocating to the Western Cape in 2022, Vettori now focuses on multi-media canvases. Recent exhibitions include “Unstill Lifes, deconstructed wine” at the Elgin Railway Market and the Broadlands Manor gallery Spring exhibition in 2023. In 2024, she exhibited at Kirstenbosch Botanical Gardens, Cape Town and began a non-profit project, “Paint Sir Lowry’s Pass Village.”

Her notable commissions in Africa include interior artwork for Monte Casino and the Palazzo Hotel, portraits and wildlife paintings for the Livingston Hotel in Zambia, and large-scale canvases for the New Pearls Tower in Umhlanga. International clients include Mick Jagger, Elton John, George Harrison, Oprah Winfrey, and royalty from Jordan and Brunei. Her work can also be found in prestigious London locations such as Buckingham Palace, Windsor Castle, the Dorchester and Claridge’s Hotels, and the Albert Hall.
